Once upon a time I was a very avid user of VIM as it allowed to me produce code very quickly. Though at some point the company I was interning at forbade its use, fearing its arcane powers. Instead I was forced to use Homesite 5 a, by then already, discontinued program for developing websites.
These days I prefer to use Notepad++ though I am looking at VIM with some interest. One of the biggest problems with it is that its learning curve is steeper than that of Mount Everest. But once mastered one will reach speeds of development that most coders only dream of.

Vi is better than emacs.
